Brian has dedicated his professional career to building philanthropic cultures and fundraising expertise within organizations, particularly in social and human service sectors, LGBTQIA+ justice initiatives, and higher education. Recently, Brian consulted at CCS Fundraising, a world-renowned nonprofit consulting firm. In this role, he successfully led various scopes of work, including campaign management and assessments that encompassed prospect research, staff growth plans, feasibility studies, and comprehensive development plans. Prior to his time at CCS, Brian contributed to the Major and Principal Gifts team at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. There, he focused on cultivation strategies for major and principal donors and led the development of a 3-year regional strategic plan.
Throughout his career, Brian has provided valuable insights on potential individual, corporate, and foundation donors. He has helped organizations secure transformative support by employing comprehensive donor engagement and solicitation strategies, establishing robust campaign infrastructures, collaborating closely with nonprofit volunteer leaders, and delivering tailored nonprofit assessments that meet specific organizational needs.
As a volunteer, Brian actively contributes to LGBTQIA+ community. Brian is a National Board Director at Gay for Good and he serves on the development committee for the American LGBTQ+ Museum’s inaugural capital campaign. He also chairs the steering committee for Denison University’s LGBTQIA+ Alumni Association. He has previously held a position on the Board of Trustees at Denison University during a $250M comprehensive campaign, and as Foundation Board Associate for the American College Personnel Association’s Foundation.
Sterling brings over a decade of professional experience in education and legal compliance to his role as Vice Chair, coupled with a deep commitment to advancing equity, inclusion, and community impact. As a longtime ally to the queer community, Sterling has dedicated much of his personal and professional journey to fostering spaces where every individual feels seen, valued, and supported.
As a former chapter leader and active committee member for Gay For Good. His leadership has emphasized collaboration, accountability, and sustainable impact; all values that align with Gay For Good’s mission to unite people of all identities in service to others.
Grounded in the belief that service is a powerful tool for change, Sterling is guided by the organization’s vision of creating a world where LGBTQ+ people and allies are recognized for their positive contributions. His professional background in compliance and education brings a strong foundation of organizational stewardship, ensuring that programs and partnerships not only thrive but also reflect the highest standards of integrity and inclusivity.

Janine joined the Gay For Good as a volunteer in the Twin Cities in 2015 eventually serving on the local Chapter Leader team. In 2021, she joined the Board of Directors, serving one term as Secretary and completing her second as Treasurer. She brings a thoughtful, solution-oriented mindset focused on scaling impact, sharing best practices, and enhancing the chapter leader experience.
Janine’s professional experience brings 30+ years of experience across four diverse industries. Her expertise includes project management, customer experience (CX) survey development, process improvement, and participant-centered training techniques. She also brings strong leadership in team management, collaboration, and coaching.
Currently, as a Franchise Business Manager with the Miracle-Ear business unit of Amplifon, she collaborates with franchisees executing best practices to improve hearing health in their local communities. Janine is also active in other social and community initiatives including LBGTQIA + and women’s issues.
Diego joined Gay For Good as a volunteer in San Diego before becoming a chapter leader in 2021. Has served as G4G board Secretary since 2023. He played a key role on the Organization Name Task Force in 2022 and continues to be a passionate advocate for the organization’s mission. Professionally, Diego serves as the Program Manager of Development and has spent his career specializing in training, employee development, and regional operations—most notably during his 14-year tenure at Navy Federal Credit Union. Originally from Albuquerque, he is a proud lifelong learner. He holds an MBA and an MS in Global Leadership, along with a Graduate Certificate in Project Management, all from the University of San Diego. In 2023, he further deepened his nonprofit engagement by completing the university’s Nonprofit Board Service Certification.
| Tony is a co-founder of Gay For Good and has served on the board since 2009 in a variety of leadership roles. He is also an active leader in the organization’s Los Angeles Chapter. Tony earned a BIS in Sociology, Marketing, and European Studies from the University of Minnesota, where he created the largest charitable fundraiser within the university’s Greek system benefiting Special Olympics Minnesota.
In 2021, Tony was honored with the Alumni of Notable Achievement Award from the University of Minnesota’s College of Liberal Arts. He has also contributed his marketing expertise to The Trevor Project, playing a key role in developing the name “Helpline” and producing the organization’s first celebrity PSAs. Originally from Wisconsin, Tony now calls Los Angeles home, where he lives with his partner, Ali, and their cat, Blue. |
Amie Brown is a longtime nonprofit leader with more than 25 years of experience, especially in healthcare and services for underserved communities. She currently serves as Chief External Affairs Officer at Meals on Wheels San Diego County and holds certifications in Nonprofit Management and Fundraising Management. A graduate of SDSU with degrees in Sociology and Women’s Studies, Amie also completed the Clinic Leadership Institute through Blue Shield of California. A San Diego native and proud mother of two grown queer daughters, she’s now channeling her “empty-nester” energy into building inclusive, mission-driven communities through volunteerism.
Jacqui Filbeck is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, certified yoga teacher, veteran who brings a deep commitment to equity, inclusion, and sustainable healing. With experience in crisis care, trauma recovery, and clinical supervision, she supports communities often forced to carry the dual burden of enduring marginalization while educating others about it. Jacqui works to shift that dynamic—creating spaces where healing, not explanation, is the expectation. We shouldn’t have to endure and educate our own marginalization. Her work centers Black women and LGBTQ+ communities, honoring both rest and resistance. At Gay For Good, she helps build bridges through service, solidarity, and collective care.
Greg Matsunami is a retired Certified Change Management ProfessionalTM and business executive who worked in the retail/apparel industry. He held global leadership roles at Nike, lululemon and Speedo before building a consulting practice with clients such as Levi Strauss and Wilson Sporting Goods. His primary areas of expertise include defining and executing product and supply chain strategies, streamlining operations, facilitating change management and organizational development.
Since retiring in late 2022, Greg has directed his time toward non-profit organizations and community engagement, having served on the Board of Trustees for the Desert Research Institute Foundation (which supports environmental sciences research), founding the Precinct Captains program in California’s 41st congressional district and most recently, supporting the launch of the Asian Pacific Islander Rainbow Coalition in Southern California.
Greg was born and raised in Los Angeles, but has lived in seven cities across the US plus Amsterdam and Vancouver, BC. He holds a BA in American Studies and Communication from Stanford University, an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a certificate in interior design from UCLA. He and his partner, Mike, currently split their time between Palm Springs, Santa Monica and Las Vegas.
Andrew Spatafora is a dynamic leader at Meta, where he has spent the last several years driving strategic initiatives. He manages a team responsible for developing advertising campaigns for top companies and oversees more than $400 million in annual ad spend. With a master’s degree from Imperial College Business School, Andrew combines deep expertise in marketing with a strong foundation in business management. As an influential voice for the LGBTQ+ community, he is committed to fostering diversity and inclusion across the industry.
Beyond his role at Meta, Andrew serves on the Board of Directors of the Garfield Park Conservatory in Chicago. Nature plays an important role in his life, and Garfield Park brings together people, plants, and culture in an urban oasis like no other. Andrew was also a founding member of Code Your Chances (CYC), a nonprofit organization that empowers young girls by introducing them to the creative and transformative power of computer science. His work with CYC reflects his passion for mentorship and for creating pathways for underrepresented groups in technology.
Born and raised in the Chicago area, Andrew has a passion for the arts, having begun his career in theater. In 2019, he ran the Chicago Marathon (once is enough!) and raised funds for the Chicago Women’s Health Center.
Andrew believes deeply in kindness, the power of community, and the importance of honoring differences. He’s guided by a simple principle: the world is full of good people and when we tap into and amplify that goodness, extraordinary things happen.
